WEBTOON Entertainment and its Korean production subsidiary Studio N are celebrating a record-breaking debut for My Daughter is a Zombie, the comedy film adaptation of Lee Yoon-chang’s hit webcomic.

The film opened in South Korea on July 30, 2025, drawing 430,000 admissions on its first day—the biggest opening day at the Korean box office this year. That figure surpasses the previous 2025 record held by Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning. It also marks the highest opening day attendance ever for a theatrical comedy in Korea’s history.

According to the Korean Film Council, My Daughter is a Zombie was the fastest film of 2025 to surpass two million admissions, reaching the milestone in just six days.

Adapted from the WEBTOON series with over 500 million global views, the film follows a devoted father on a top-secret training mission to protect his daughter, the last remaining zombie in the world. The cast includes Cho Jung-seok (Pilot), Lee Jung-eun (Parasite), Cho Yeo-jeong (Parasite), Yoon Kyung-ho (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call), and Choi Yu-ri (Alienoid).

Originally distributed in Korea by NEW, My Daughter is a Zombie arrives in theaters across the U.S. and Canada today via JBG Pictures USA, with international distribution by Contents Panda.
