Nam Dareum is living the ultimate stan life—and her story is headed from webcomic to screen next year.

According to Naver, the romantic comedy webcomic My Oppa is an Idol will be adapted into a live-action series titled My Favorite Employee, set to premiere in 2026. The drama has reportedly cast its leads Nam Dareum and Kang Ha-gi. Kim Hye-jun will play Dareum, a new hire at a startup run by Chan Lee, a former idol she once adored. Kang Hoon will portray Ha-gi, the company’s cold and reserved CEO who hides his feelings behind a tough exterior.

Kim Hye-jun debuted in the lesbian romance web series Lily Fever and gained international attention as Queen Consort Cho in Netflix’s Kingdom. She won Best New Actress for Another Child at the 2019 Blue Dragon Film Awards and earned another Best New Actress award in 2022 for Inspector Koo.

Kang Hoon first appeared in the 2018 drama Let Me Introduce Her as Ji Soo-han and rose to prominence with roles in The Red Sleeve (2021), A Time Called You, and The Secret Romantic Guesthouse (2023).

Written and illustrated by Sung-eun, My Oppa is an Idol follows Dareum as she starts working at the same company as her former favorite idol and crosses paths with its aloof CEO, Kang Ha-gi. The series ran from 2017 to 2020 and, as of this writing, does not have an official English translation.

Production will begin later this year, with a 2026 premiere in sight.
