POSITIVELY YOURS live-action drama adaptation will reportedly change settings

"Positively Yours" is moving away from the school and into a company.

-

It’s official—Positively Yours is heading to the small screen!

The hit webnovel will be adapted into a television drama series, with lead roles offered to Oh Yeon Seo and Choi Jin Hyuk as Jang Heewon and Kang Doojoon, respectively. Choi’s agency confirmed that he is currently reviewing the offer positively, while Oh’s agency has not yet responded.

As with many K-Drama adaptations, the drama will undergo a major shift in setting. Instead of a school, the story will take place in a corporate environment. Jang Heewon has given up on marriage and motherhood in favor of climbing the corporate ladder. But everything changes after a one-night stand with Kang Doojoon—the president of an affiliated company—leads to an unexpected pregnancy. Once Kang learns he’s going to be a father, he insists they get married.

In Lee Jung’s original webnovel, the story unfolds in a high school where Jang Heewon works as a teacher striving for perfection. She has a one-night stand with Kang Doojoon, who turns out to be the uncle of one of her students and the chairman of the school board. Determined not to let his child grow up fatherless, Kang proposes marriage—even though the two know nothing about each other.

The webnovel also inspired a webcomic illustrated by Kang Ki. The series launched on Tapas on June 12, 2020, and concluded with 82 episodes on April 8, 2022. Positively Yours has attracted nearly 17 million views on the platform and over 1.1 million likes. The English version of the webnovel currently has just over 1,400 views.

We’re absolutely positive you’ll be glad to know: the Positively Yours webcomic is available on Tapas, and the webnovel can be read on Wattpad!
