Despite ongoing criticism of the animation quality from fans and critics alike, The Beginning After the End continues to perform well. According to Asa Suehira, Chief Content Officer at Crunchyroll, The Beginning After the End “continues to be a top fantasy series on Crunchyroll, with strong fan anticipation for the next season.”
“The unique series has sparked passionate discussion among Crunchyroll’s global fan community and that will continue in the new season.“
Adapted from the webnovel series, The Beginning After the End follows King Grey, who reincarnates as a child named Arthur Leywin after his untimely death. Drawing on memories from his previous life, Arthur learns magic to grow stronger, protect his loved ones, and atone for past mistakes. Studio A-Cat handles the anime adaptation, with Keitaro Motonaga directing and Takamitsu Kono overseeing the series composition. Masami Sueoka designed the characters, while Keiji Inai composed the music.
TurtleMe, the creator behind the beloved webnovel and webcomic, shared their thoughts on the upcoming season:
“I’m excited for viewers to see more of Arthur’s journey on screen with Season 2! It’s been an eye-opening experience being part of such a large endeavor with Crunchyroll, Tapas, and A-Cat. Striving for growth has been a major focus for us, and I hope to see the hard work put into the next season bear fruit. Stay tuned!”
