On May 27, Aloha Comics teased a license acquisition with a cryptic emoji—two mushrooms, one small and one large. On June 11, the Hawaii-based publisher officially announced its license of the Little Mushroom manhua adaptation. The release will come as a set of two hardcover books featuring the full, uncensored version. Each copy will include a dust jacket with holographic foil and spot hologlass lamination. Volume 1 will span 220 pages, while Volume 2 will run slightly longer at 212 pages. Preorders will come with exclusive bonus items, which the publisher will reveal at a later date.

Based on the award-winning sci-fi novel by Yi Shi Si Zhou, the manhua adaptation by Yuchi Jinze (aka Maomao Tou) has captivated fans with its spellbinding artwork. The story takes place in a future where Earth’s magnetic poles have vanished, forcing humans into underground bases while cosmic radiation mutates living organisms. A sentient mushroom living in the forest meets a dying boy named An Ze and grows fond of him. After humans steal his spore, the mushroom takes on An Ze’s face, renames himself An Zhe, and sets out to reclaim what’s his. But the spore lies within a human base protected by Judges, ruthless enforcers tasked with eliminating all non-humans. There, An Zhe encounters Colonel Lu Feng, a relentless Judge with secrets of his own.

Aloha Comics continues to expand its danmei lineup, which already includes Heaven Official’s Blessing (manhua version of the donghua), Here U Are, Day Off, Nirvana in Fire, and the manhua adaptation of the hit series Link Click.

The official English print edition of Little Mushroom is set to release between September and October 2025 and is priced at $58.25 USD.
