More Dark Horse comics are joining the WEBTOON family.
WEBTOON continues its collaboration with Dark Horse by announcing five new series that will be reformatted for the platform’s vertical scroll format. The new additions include The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins, Plants vs. Zombies, and The Legend of Korra. The latter three will be exclusive to WEBTOON. While WEBTOON hasn’t revealed specific release dates, fans can expect the titles to debut on the webcomics platform, with its updated VSC look, throughout the second half of the year.
The Witcher, a fantasy comic book series based on the video game franchise developed by CD Projekt Red, debuted in 2014. A variety of writers and artists have contributed to the series, crafting new stories outside of Andrzej Sapkowski’s original novels. The story follows Geralt of Rivia, a witcher who hunts monsters using supernatural abilities.
Cyberpunk 2077, based on Mike Pondsmith’s tabletop game and developed by CD Projekt Red, tells short stories set in Night City. The comic series introduces new characters while exploring the gritty sci-fi world of the game.
Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins is a comic adaptation of the popular web series where a group of professional voice actors play Dungeons & Dragons. Each volume explores a different character’s backstory, with a unique creative team behind each installment.
Plants vs. Zombies, developed by PopCap Games, follows humanity’s battle against a quirky zombie invasion using unconventional, plant-based defenses.
Joining Avatar: The Last Airbender, which landed on WEBTOON on March 22, 2024, is its sequel, The Legend of Korra. The series continues Korra’s journey after the animated show’s finale, following her adventures with her friends and her growing relationship with Asami Sato. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original creators, penned the comic continuation.
