Let’s Play is finally coming to screens in 2025.

Crunchyroll has announced it will stream the anime adaptation of the popular webcomic Let’s Play. A new trailer gives fans a first look at the updated character designs, and Kana Hanazawa has been confirmed to voice protagonist Sam Young. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced. While the official premiere is set for later this year, fans attending Anime Expo on July 3 will be treated to a special world premiere screening with the creator, director, and producers in attendance.

Studio OLM is animating the series, with Daiki Tomiyasu directing. Ebimo is handling character designs, while Aya Matsui oversees series composition. Slowcurve is managing planning and production. The anime was originally announced at NYCC 2023, as reported by Comics Beat.

Written and illustrated by Leeanne M. Krecic, otherwise known as Mongie, Let’s Play debuted on WEBTOON on November 6, 2017, and ran for three seasons until September 5, 2022. When the series returns, it won’t be on WEBTOON. Mongie has stated that Season 4 will launch on a different platform, citing issues with the platform’s marketing support and age-gating policies. Due to contractual obligations, Mongie is unable to publish new episodes until after September 2025, when the three-year exclusivity period ends.

An Eisner Award-nominated, Ringo Award-winning comic, Let’s Play follows Sam Young, a budding indie game developer. When a popular streamer harshly reviews her first game, Ruminate, Sam is devastated—and even more upset to discover that the streamer, Marshall Law, has just moved in next door. The webcomic has amassed 715 million views on WEBTOON. Rocketship Entertainment has published the series in print, with Volume 4 released in July 2024. A Kickstarter campaign is currently underway for Volume 5.

Let’s Play is available for purchase through Rocketship Entertainment. A Kickstarter was launched for Vol. 5.
