After what feels like 800 years of waiting, Heaven Official’s Blessing will finally make its English manhua debut.
Inklore is stepping into the danmei market with its first license—and it’s not a novel. Unlike other publishers that focus on danmei prose, Inklore has acquired the rights to the official manhua adaptation of Heaven Official’s Blessing. The English release will come in a deluxe hardcover edition featuring designed sprayed edges, custom endpapers, a gold foil-stamped case, a deluxe jacket, and an exclusive printed signature by the artist STARember. The edition will also include a brand-new translation and localization. A sneak peek at the cover is included below:
Some fans may be confused, as Aloha Comics is also releasing a “manhua” version of Heaven Official’s Blessing. However, that version is simply a collection of screenshots from the donghua. Inklore’s edition is the official manhua adaptation. TOKYOPOP previously announced that it licensed the Spanish edition of the manhua, while Seven Seas Entertainment continues to publish the original novel in both paperback and hardcover.
Written by New York Times bestselling author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Heaven Official’s Blessing is her third novel. The story follows Xie Lian, a disgraced god who was once the darling of the heavens. After falling from grace not once but twice, he becomes the laughingstock of the three realms. When he ascends to godhood for a third time, he takes on a mission in the mortal realm and meets a mysterious man in red—one who seems to know far more about Xie Lian than expected. As the two investigate the secrets of the heavenly court, Xie Lian must confront the past he’s tried so hard to leave behind.
STARember has served as the manhua’s lead artist since its inception. As the series progressed, they even returned to redraw earlier chapters to match the evolving art style. In April 2024, STARember stepped away from production at the end of Season 1, casting uncertainty over the adaptation’s future. The manhua was originally available on Bilibili Comics, but after the platform’s shutdown, it moved to Lezhin Comics, where it is currently on “extended hiatus” due to catching up with the original material.
