CLEAR AND MUDDY LOSS OF LOVE baihe audio drama canceled

Jīng wèi wújiàn (Clear and Muddy Loss of Love), also known as JWWJ, will not return for a second season of its audio drama adaptation.

On May 16, the official Clear and Muddy Loss of Love account on X confirmed that Season 1 would be the final season. The statement read:

“Due to recent challenges faced by our company, we need to focus our efforts on addressing external pressures. After six drafts of the second season failed to meet our expectations, we have decided to halt its production.”

The production team expressed deep appreciation to listeners:

“We are deeply grateful for meeting you and for the genuine friendship that began in the spring and summer of 2023. May our bond endure forever.”

Season 1, which consists of 14 episodes, will remain available on Missevan until November 30, 2027. All related merchandise sales will end on June 9, 2026. Those who purchased Season 1 can redeem a commemorative badge.

The audio drama adapts the webnovel Clear and Muddy Loss of Love by Please Don’t Laugh and features voice actors Hao Tian and Xu Jiaqi as Hao Tian and Nangong Jingnu.

Donghua Still in Production—But Struggling

Although the audio drama has ended, the donghua adaptation is still moving forward, albeit with some turbulence. The studio recently shared revised character designs after incorporating fan feedback from the concept trailer and Lantern Festival BTS footage.

While production is reportedly over halfway complete, the studio noted that external disruptions continue to slow progress.

“Our team is struggling alone in the dark, almost unable to hold on,” the company shared in a heartfelt message. “We had hoped to minimize regrets for readers and fans who love this work, but alas, things rarely go as wished, and we’re powerless to fight against the odds. If you’re still willing to support its completion, please leave encouraging words in the replies and quotes, offering a bit of warmth—like stars lighting up the path we’ve traveled. Starting with beauty, ending with peace of mind.”

At this time, no release date has been announced for the donghua.

The original baihe novel contains 303 chapters and four extras. Monogatari Novels has licensed the English version, but its release has faced repeated delays and currently has no confirmed launch date.
