Anime NYC ’25: DEFINE THE RELATIONSHIP’s Flona to attend

It’s truly fitting that Define the Relationship’s creator will make her American debut in the state where it all began.

Anime NYC has announced one of their special guests: Flona, the author behind the webnovel Define the Relationship. She’ll join Publang—the publisher of both the digital and upcoming print editions of her book—for a special signing event. The signing is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, with more details to be revealed in the coming months.

Define the Relationship is an omegaverse BL story that begins on one fateful New Year’s Eve in Times Square, when Karlyle kisses a stranger. He never learns the man’s identity, but even six years later, he can’t forget that moment—or that man. These days, Karlyle has something else on his mind: his sex life. Omegas just don’t do it for him. His doctor proposes an unconventional solution: try sleeping with an alpha. Enter Ash Jones, a charismatic and stunning man who happens to be both Karlyle’s brother-in-law’s ex… and the mystery man from that kiss six years ago.

Flona’s novel was one of the earliest titles Publang licensed. The main story concluded on December 31, 2024, and the side stories—“One Day” and “Manual of Ash Jones”—followed on March 6, 2025. Publang recently announced a limited print edition, with preorders opening May 17. Chada, the manhwa’s illustrator, will provide the cover art. The two-volume hardcover set will feature reversible dust jackets and a merch bundle.

The story also received a manhwa adaptation. The first episodes premiered on January 5, 2022, and the main story wrapped with 98 episodes on April 13, 2024. All 11 side stories are also available on Lezhin.
