Pinkfong Company, the global entertainment brand behind the Baby Shark sensation, has officially launched its latest IP, Moon Shark: From Underwater Princess to Celebrity, in North America. The new spin-off webtoon is now available on five major U.S. digital comic platforms: Manta, Lezhin Comics US, HYPERCOMIC, Dashtoon, and Lalatoon.
Moon Shark tells the story of Sid, a curious and spirited shark princess from an underwater kingdom who dreams of the surface world. With a not-so-secret crush on a boy band idol, Sid’s life takes a dramatic turn when she enters the human world and becomes an unexpected social media star.
Moon Shark is co-produced with M Story Hub, the creative studio behind the global hit The Remarried Empress, and originally premiered on Naver SERIES in South Korea. Since its release, the webcomic has garnered approximately 830,000 views, with a staggering 818,000 views on Kakao Page alone. It has also made its way to LINE Manga in Japan and currently streams on 11 Korean digital platforms.
The launch of Moon Shark in North America is part of a broader multimedia strategy. On April 26, 2025, Pinkfong dropped a new animated music video, Under the Spotlight, featuring characters from Moon Shark in a high-energy audition setting. Distributed by YG Plus, the track is now streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music.
Earlier in December 2024, the 2D animated music video Moonlight teased the new series with clips that quickly went viral, amassing over 1.67 million views on Instagram and 1.59 million on X (formerly Twitter).
