Monogatari Novels continues to delay their upcoming danmei and baihe releases.
Based in Spain, Monogatari Novels is a relatively new publisher in the danmei and baihe (Chinese for Girls’ Love) space. Despite generating early excitement, none of its titles have reached readers, and the company has already found itself in hot water. The release dates for its debut series—Clear and Muddy Loss of Love, Female General & Eldest Princess, The Silent Concubine, The Legendary Master’s Wife, the Soulmate manhua, and the How to Survive as a Villain manhua—remain “undetermined.”
According to the publisher, ongoing customs issues related to new tariffs have caused the delays. In a recent post on X, Monogatari Novels wrote:
“Available release dates are a placeholder date put in place in order to avoid any further delay. However, we expect them to be ready much sooner than that.”
Amazon currently lists the releases for November 2025—pushed back from their original May launch. As Danmei News reported, some customers have had their preorders canceled.
Monogatari announced its first danmei license, the Silent Concubine manhua, in July 2023. It followed with a major reveal of The Legendary Master’s Wife in August, and a month earlier, the company had announced its first baihe title, Soulmate. While these announcements generated buzz, the publisher has yet to deliver beyond a few preorders of Female General & Eldest Princess that successfully shipped.
Recently, Monogatari dissolved its contentious partnership with BLoved Publishing. The two had previously announced joint plans to release The Legendary Master’s Wife, How to Survive as a Villain, Clear and Muddy Loss of Love, and Female General & Eldest Princess. The split followed a public exchange on X, where BLoved claimed it held the licenses for The Legendary Master’s Wife and How to Survive as a Villain. Monogatari publicly denied this, asserting that it held the licenses for all four titles. In November 2024, Monogatari confirmed it had officially ended the partnership. A follow-up statement in December explained the decision, citing “BLoved Publishing repeatedly engaging in behavior that Monogatari Novels found to be harmful.”
For now, the release dates for all six series remain uncertain.
