With Solo Leveling Season 2 ending, there’s still no word on whether the hit anime will return for a third season.
According to Senpai Sauces, the anime’s producer previously stated he wasn’t sure if the series would continue. “Will this end be temporary? I honestly don’t know.”
Solo Leveling Season 2 premiered in January and was expected to cover four major arcs, including “Red Gate” and “Jeju Island.” The season did include the “Jeju Island” arc, which follows the fourth raid on Jeju Island—a dangerous battleground swarming with winged ants.
Originally a webnovel by Chugong, Solo Leveling debuted on KakaoPage in 2016. Webnovel licensed the English version before Tapas and Yen Press brought it to digital and print formats. The story’s immense popularity led to a webcomic adaptation illustrated by DUBU, which ran from March 2018 to December 2021 on KakaoPage. Tapas and Tappytoon licensed the webcomic in 2020, where it remains a top title. The anime adaptation premiered in 2024, with its first season ending in March and the second following this year. Recently, Solo Leveling won “Best Anime” at the Astra Awards, and Heaeun Kwak, D&C Webtoon’s creative director, confirmed a live-action adaptation in a French interview.
While there’s no news on a third season, fans can still revisit Solo Leveling through its webcomic on Tapas, Tappytoon, and Manta, read the physical release from Yen Press, or rewatch the anime’s first two seasons on Crunchyroll.
