THE BROKEN RING enthralls with Vol. 1 cover

Inklore has unveiled the breathtaking cover of The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway, one of Tappytoon‘s top romantasy titles.

Penguin Random House’s manhwa imprint, Inklore, acquired the title in August 2024. Now, fans can see the stunning cover art, which features Inés and Cárcel in an intimate moment as Cárcel brings Inés’s fingers to his lips. The first volume will collect the webcomic’s first 14 episodes.

Adapted from CHACHA KIM’s original novel, the webcomic features writing by CHOKAM and illustrations by Cheong-gwa. Inklore describes the story:

Inés Valeztena, daughter of a powerful noble family, and Cárcel Escalante, cousin to the crown prince, have been engaged since they were six years old. Their long-delayed marriage has been the talk of high society for years, and although her fiancé is the empire’s most notorious playboy, Inés seems inexplicably content to keep the arrangement. In fact, she encourages him to do whatever he pleases even after their wedding, as long as they maintain order among the nobles.

What the gossips—and Cárcel—don’t know is that Inés has plans for her marriage of obligation, and they have nothing to do with love. But when Cárcel suddenly declares he is ready to reform his rakish ways, marry immediately, and prove to Inés that he is worthy of her true affection, she must keep her wits about her or risk losing everything she’s spent lifetimes of heartache and desperation to obtain.

The Broken Ring has amassed nearly 7 million views on Tappytoon and recently concluded its second season with Episode 96. Readers can choose between two versions on the platform: an all-ages edition and a 16+ edition. Inklore has yet to confirm whether it will publish the censored or uncensored version.

The paperback edition of The Broken Ring manhwa is set to release on Oct. 21, 2025, for $20 USD.
