BLACKPINK‘s Lisa, the world-renowned rapper, singer, dancer, and style icon, has officially released her highly anticipated first full-length solo album, Alter Ego, via LLOUD Co./RCA Records on February 28. The 15-track project is an exploration of identity, creativity, and empowerment, showcasing Lisa’s evolution as a solo artist and solidifying her status as a force in the music industry. Alongside the album, Lisa has dropped the official music video for “FXCK UP THE WORLD (Vixi Solo Version),” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Christian Breslauer, known for his work with Doja Cat, SZA, and Ariana Grande.

The album includes Lisa’s recent smash hit, “Born Again,” featuring Doja Cat and RAYE, which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the #1 most added song at Top 40 radio in the U.S. upon its release. The accompanying music video, directed by Bardia Zeinali, skyrocketed to #1 on YouTube’s Daily Top Music Videos worldwide and #5 in the U.S., earning praise from critics and fans alike. Harper’s Bazaar hailed the track as “the girl power anthem we’ll be playing all year long.”

The album also boasts collaborations with Tyla, Megan Thee Stallion, and Future, as well as previously released singles like “New Woman” featuring Rosalía, “Moonlit Floor,” and “Rockstar.” The latter made history by debuting at #1 on the Billboard Global Ex. US Chart and #4 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart, while earning Lisa the MTV VMA for Best K-Pop. With this win, Lisa became the first solo act to claim the award multiple times, further cementing her legacy as a trailblazer.

At the heart of Alter Ego is a captivating concept that sees Lisa embodying five distinct characters, each representing a unique facet of her personality. These characters, Roxi, Sunni, Kiki, Vixi, and Speedi, are symbolized by the five points of a star, a central motif in the album’s campaign. Each character is paired with a track that reflects their individual essence:

  • Roxi (“Rockstar”)
  • Sunni (“Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)”)
  • Kiki (“New Woman” feat. ROSALÍA)
  • Vixi (“FXCK UP THE WORLD”)
  • Speedi (“Lifestyle”)

Lisa first teased the characters in her album announcement last November, sparking widespread excitement among BLINKs and Lilies. As she gradually revealed more details leading up to the release, the anticipation for Alter Ego reached an all-time high.

2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Lisa. Following the release of Alter Ego, she made her Oscars debut on Sunday, March 2, performing at the 97th Annual Academy Awards as part of a special celebration of cinema. Sharing the stage with Doja Cat and RAYE, Lisa’s performance was a highlight of the prestigious event.

In addition to her musical achievements, Lisa has expanded her horizons into acting, making her debut in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus. She also recently appeared on the popular series Hot Ones, showcasing her charisma in a memorable interview.

In April, Lisa will return to the desert to make her solo debut at Coachella, one of the most iconic music festivals in the world. This performance is set to be a career-defining moment, as she brings the electrifying energy of Alter Ego to the stage.
