KALA wrote on their Instagram post:

I’m extremely excited to announce that my next single 『 KINGSBLOOD 』 will be the intro track for The Beginning After the End.

This is a lifelong dream of mine come true. Anime and games have been at the forefront of my creativity for my entire life, so to see these animations and hear my song is extremely surreal to me.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the years, my wife, my friends and my entire team out in Japan. Without you guys, this wouldn’t be possible.

When the opportunity showed up, I read all of the webcomics to get familiar with the story, and it’s crazy how many similarities to my own life were present throughout the writing.

For all the TBATE fans out there, I hope you appreciate the amount of effort put into the lyrics and delivery of the song.

Yamato Kinjo and Rena Maeda will voice Reynolds and Alice Leywin, respectively. Shinya Takashi plays Durden Walker, while Taihi Kimura takes on the role of Adam Krensh. Miyū Ogura, Riko Akechi, and Shiori Izawa complete the cast as Helen Shard, Angela Rose, and Sylvia. Natsumi Fujiwara will voice protagonist Arthur Leywin, with Makoto Furukawa portraying his past self, King Grey.

Animated by Studio A-Cat and produced by Slow Curve, The Beginning After the End is directed by Keitaro Motonaga, with Takamitsu Kōno as the series scriptwriter. Keiji Inai will compose the music. Creator TurtleMe serves as the story supervisor and executive producer, alongside Tapas Entertainment staff members Mike Zhu and Kevin Nicklaus, as well as TurtleMe LLC’s Gabrielle Luu. The first season will feature 24 episodes.

Originally serialized on Royalroad, The Beginning After the End later moved to Tapas, where it was adapted into a webcomic. Fuyuki23 illustrated the first five seasons before Rise Entertainment took over, and MGK-story now produces the webcomic. Both the webnovel and webcomic rank among Tapas’ most popular titles, with millions of views. Yen Press has licensed the print edition of the webcomic.

Touted as a webnovel written for the American audience, The Beginning After the End follows the all-powerful King Grey who unexpectedly dies and reincarnates into Arthur Leywin, a young boy who retains all of his memories and knowledge from his past life. Arthur must adapt to his new life as the son of two retired adventurers and must find his place in society, coming to the realization that there’s more than just power in the world.

The Beginning After the End airs on April 2 on Crunchyroll. The webnovel and webcomic are both available on Tapas.
