Wattpad WEBTOON‘s YONDER app will shut down on July 31, 2025, according to an announcement within the app.

The statement reads:

“WINDING DOWN YONDER
When we launched YONDER in 2022, our goal was to create a unique space for a curated collection of serialized storytelling. Over the past two years, your enthusiasm and support for YONDER have inspired us, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.

As we look ahead, we’ve decided to focus our efforts and investments on Wattpad, where they will have a larger impact on our creators and reach more readers. As part of this decision, we will discontinue the YONDER app later this year. While YONDER has received positive feedback, focusing our efforts on Wattpad and its large global user community will allow us to make a greater impact on creators and readers worldwide.

We want to thank you for being part of the WONDER journey. We hope you’ll continue to share your support and passion for storytelling on Wattpad.

The statement also explains that, starting February 12, 2025, readers will no longer be able to purchase coins. However, they can still use any remaining coins or free passes to unlock stories until the app’s closure. July 31, 2025, will mark the last day of service for the app. After that, the app will no longer be accessible, and any coins or unlocked chapters tied to user accounts will no longer be available.

The app, launched by Wattpad WEBTOON in March 2022, served as a platform for users to share and discover short, user-generated stories. It differentiated itself from Wattpad, which is a social writers’ site where writers can receive instant feedback from readers through comments or DMs. YONDER, on the other hand, hosted serialized stories that provided quality, curated reading. It was designed as an accessible way for writers and readers to connect via mobile devices. The app is currently available through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Readers have until July 31, 2025, to enjoy their favorite stories.
