Lout of Count’s Family has made its triumphant return with Season 4.
Yu Ryeo Han began writing the webnovel on April 9, 2018, with the first part complete and the second part currently ongoing. The story has over 1,000 chapters. Initially, the webnovel was being translated on Wuxiaworld, and negotiations were underway between the platform and the publisher. However, due to miscommunication and unknown reasons, the author decided to end licensing discussions with Wuxiaworld, and the novel’s chapters have since been removed from the site.
A webcomic adaptation, illustrated by PAN4 and written by PING, began serialization on September 1, 2020. The webcomic took a two-week hiatus starting March 15, 2024, due to the artist’s health. Season 3 concluded on July 12, 2024, and the six-month break marked the series’ second longest between-season hiatus.
Tappytoon describes the story as such:
Kim Roksu has one life motto: “Let’s not get beat up.” But after dozing off somewhere midway through the novel Birth of a Hero, he wakes up as Cale Henituse–one of the minor villains in the novel who gets the beating of a lifetime from soon-to-be hero Choi Han. Only time will tell how much longer he has before that dreadful encounter. Can Kim Roksu change the course of this story so he can enjoy a long and lavish life free of the soon-to-be hero?
Seven Seas is publishing the novel version in print, with the first two volumes already released and the third volume scheduled for release on March 4, 2025. The webcomic adaptation is available to read on Lezhin and Tappytoon.
