THE BEGINNING AFTER THE END sets sights on April 2025 premiere

April can't come soon enough!

-

It’ll be a short four-month wait for The Beginning After the End fans before Arthur Leywin takes center stage on the small screen.

The official X account (formerly Twitter) for The Beginning After the End anime series unveiled a longer trailer, revealing the April 2025 premiere date. The trailer adds 30 extra seconds, focusing on Arthur with his family, his meeting with Sylvia, and thrilling fight scenes. Most excitingly, fans can hear Arthur and his past self, King Grey, brought to life. Natsumi Fujiwara (Spy x Family‘s Damian Desmond) brings Arthur to life, while Makoto Furukawa (One-Punch Man‘s Saitama) voices Grey.

Fujiwara said, “I hope you’ll enjoy following Grey’s past life, witnessing Arthur’s rebirth, and discovering the thoughts and actions that shape his new path.” Furukawa said the world of TBATE intrigued him with its blend of isekai fantasy and reincarnation. He commented on Grey’s role in Arthur’s life as the former acts like “his inner voice.” He continued, “While there are plenty of serious moments, the character also shines in comedic scenes, which I found particularly enjoyable.”

Studio A-Cat animates the series, with Slow Curve Co. producing. Keitarou Motonaga will direct with Takamitsu Kono in charge of the series composition. Masami Sueoka will design the characters with Keiji Inai composing the music. Creator TurtleMe will serve as the story supervisor.

Based on TurtleMe’s webnovel, The Beginning After the End follows King Grey, reincarnated as Arthur Leywin. Arthur must now live a new life, fight new enemies and monsters, and find the answer to a very important question: who killed him? And why? The webnovel inspired a webcomic in July 2018, becoming one of Tapas’s most popular series. The anime adaptation marks the first time a US-created webcomic has become an anime.

Season 1 of The Beginning After the End streams on Crunchyroll in a split-cour format. Fans can read the webnovel and webcomic on Tapas.
