At New York Comic Con on Sunday, Ize Press, the imprint of Yen Press which licenses Korean webcomics and webnovels, had fans abuzz for its panel. After it announced the licenses for its Japanese works, Yen Press passed the mic over to Ize Press which revealed it had licensed seven series in total with three of them webnovels and four of them webcomics.
The panel had something for everyone with a slate of horror, romantasy, BL, and villainess stories. First up are the webcomics: Ize Press announced that they had licensed the print publications of Lady Devil, Lover Boy, Murderous Lewellyn’s Candlelit Dinner, and Radio Storm.

Murderous Lewellyn’s Candlelit Dinner
by 0L (adaptation) and MUK_BU (art)
Written originally by Sumnagi, Murderous Lewellyn’s Candlelit Dinner was adapted into a webcomic with 0L handling the story adaptation and MUK_BU the artist. The historical murder-mystery Boys’ Love is a psychological thriller and will be perfect for fans who are just as obsessed with obsessive lovers as the obsessive lover.
A string of murders has left the residents of Ira Street feeling uneasy….although that’s none of Shavonne’s business. The penniless author is too busy trying to secure his next paycheck to pay much attention to such matters—well, that and figuring out what the deal is with his strange new neighbor, Lewellyn, a young and handsome man who spends his days peeling onions on the stairs right outside Shavonne’s apartment. Shavonne tries not to concern himself, but when he makes a gruesome discovery during a candlelit dinner at Lewellyn’s place, both his neighbor’s eccentricities and the murders plaguing the community become harder to ignore…
Murderous Lewellyn’s Candlelit Dinner is available to read on Lezhin. A release date for the webcomic has not yet been announced.
Radio Storm
by Team S&S
A supernatural horror-mystery Boys’ Love series that takes place in a seldom used setting: a zombie apocalypse. Radio Storm, created by Team S&S, is mainly a black-and-white story with some spot color. The series has amassed more than 90,000 views and features an apathetic protagonist who holds the fate of humanity and a rogue soldier who has a tragic backstory.
Are love and salvation possible at the end of the world? For core-user Sak, such a dream is unthinkable. Bullied by his peers at the war academy for his seemingly useless abilities, Sak spends every day focused only on survival. But when a deadly plague compromises the haven of his school, fantasy suddenly starts looking a whole lot more like reality. Now Sak must find his Caller—a person who amplifies his powers and who he’ll feel an innate, deep sense of affection for. The only problem? When he finally meets his stranger, he thinks Sak has lost his mind! In the face of unreciprocated feelings, weaponized distrust, and life-or-death stakes, can Sak and his Caller meet on the same wavelength? Or will their journey lead them to a hell of regret…?
Radio Storm is available to read on Tapas. A release date for the webcomic has not yet been announced.
Ize Press then followed up with their webnovel licenses and announced three: Omniscient Readers’ Viewpoint, Semantic Error, and Villains Are Destined to Die. Ize Press had previously announced that they had licensed the novel for ORV back in July 2023 but fans had not heard any news since then. After more than a year, the imprint revealed the webnovel would release its first volume in July 2025.
All three novels will be released in print, eBook, and audio formats.
Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint
by singNsong
singNsong‘s popular fantasy webnovel Omniscient Readers’ Viewpoint follows Dokja Kim who is the only reader of an online novel, but when the world is thrown into chaos and he finds himself reliving the story that he thought was once fiction, he becomes the only person who knows how the story, and world, will end.
Struggling office worker Dokja Kim’s sole joy in life is an online novel so obscure that he’s its only reader. Then one day the story comes to an end…and so does the world. Horrific monsters, ordinary people forced to kill or be killed, and goblins gleefully streaming the carnage to a celestial audience—with the apocalypse straight out of his favorite novel unfolding around him, Dokja is the only one who can see this story to the finale!
Omniscient Readers’ Viewpoint releases on July 22, 2025. Anime and live-action adaptations have been announced.
Semantic Error
by J.Soori
One of the most iconic enemies-to-lovers Korean BL webnovels out there, Semantic Error has enjoyed both a short animated adaptation and a live-action adaptation, the latter of which has been widely well-received.
Computer science major Sangwoo Choo lives by the following tenets: reason, routine, and rules. So when the rest of his groupmates flake on their class presentation, he deletes their names from the project without hesitation—inadvertently destroying one groupmate’s plans to graduate and study abroad. That’s got nothing to do with Sangwoo, though…or so he thinks, until he realizes that Jaeyoung Jang, the talented design major he was hoping to hire for his video game, is not only that very same classmate, but eager to get some payback! Will Sangwoo be able to debug this semantic error before it upends his entire life?
Semantic Error is available to read as a webcomic on Manta and the webnovel is licensed by Publang for a digital format. This gets a little confusing since Ize Press is also supposed to hold the eBook license. According to Remilia on X (formerly known as Twitter), the organizer for the press release said Publang and Ize Press may have different rights.
The release date for the webnovel will be announced at a later date.
Villains Are Destined to Die
by Gwon Gyeoeul
After Ize Press has licensed the romantic fantasy webcomic series, the original story for the Villains Are Destined to Die will now also be available to fans.
When a college student with a tragic past picks up reverse harem video game Daughter of the Duke’s Super Love Project, she immediately sees herself in one of the characters. Not the adored heroine of easy mode, Ivonne, no—but the protagonist of hard mode, misunderstood villain Penelope. Little did she know that she’d go to sleep playing the story…and wake up in Penelope’s body! The only way to escape the game world? Charm one of the love interests and reach his good ending. But with affection meters starting in the negative and the inability to speak without choosing from preselected dialogue, it quickly becomes clear that a single wrong move means her demise—and this villain might just be destined to die!
Villains Are Destined to Die is also available to read in its digital format on Tapas and Tappytoon. The release date for the webnovel will be announced at a later date.
