At the Crunchyroll Industry Panel, as the second day of Anime Expo 2024 began to wrap up, it was officially announced that an anime adaptation of the hit WEBTOON and light novel Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint will be produced by Aniplex of America and Crunchyroll. However, as of this time, there is no news of which anime studio, staff involved, or release date.

Created by Sing Shong as a web novel and adapted into the hit webtoon by Naver WEBTOON with the art and visuals by Sleepy C (Redice Studio). It is considered one of the more popular manhwa series and has gone on to also be published in English by Ize Press.
The story of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint centers around the protagonist, Kim Dokja, an average office worker who enjoys reading web novels. When the events of the current web novel he is reading become a reality, he must alter the course of reality armed with only the knowledge of how the web novel’s story plays out. Along the way of slowly building up a group of companions, he also meets Yoo Joonghyuk, the main protagonist of the web novel and one of its most powerful characters.
Rumors began swirling before Anime Expo 2024 that there would be an announcement of an Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint anime adaptation at this year’s event. Gotta catch ’em Reddit rumors, I guess.
